Cole Espenschied
Area Director

Cole was called to oversee the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in the Greater Peoria Area in June of 2005. He is a graduate of Greenville College, where he played basketball and football and majored in physical education. While at Greenville, Cole played and student-coached football under Scotty Kessler. He credits "Coach Kess" as his primary mentor in "competing biblically," which is where the Lord began to form a vision that would ultimately become His vision for FCA in the Greater Peoria Area. A few years later, Cole is now consulting, discipling, and mentoring the coaches and athletes in the Greater Peoria Area on both how to compete Biblically and do sports God’s way. It is his goal to partner with God in changing the culture of sport here through the consultation of these athletes and coaches in this area, which can in turn, impact the world for Jesus Christ. He currently resides in Peoria, IL, with his wife, Kristi, daughter, Kenzi (11), and sons, Kasen (6) and Micai (5), and Ryler (2).

Kristi Espenschied
Women's Ministry Rep.

Kristi has been privileged and blessed to serve in FCA part-time alongside her husband, Cole, since April of 2009.  Kristi is the Greater Peoria Area FCA Women's Ministry Representative.  She is overjoyed to be ministering to the women in our area!  Kristi is also a member of the "Doing Sports God's Way Team," and travels with the team to train up athletes and coaches in this area.  She shares the same passion as her husband, Cole, does to partner with God and change the culture of sport in this area to glorify Jesus.

Kristi is also a graduate of Greenville College, where she played volleyball and softball and double-majored in elementary education and special education.  Currently, she enjoys spending most of her time being a stay-at-home mom :).

Scott Krause
Area Representative

Prior to coming on staff with Greater Peoria Area Fellowship of Christian Athletes a little over a year ago, Scott worked in the public school system for 36 years. The last 23 of those years were spent at Dee-Mack High School. During his time in public education he taught high school and junior high, coached basketball for 22 years, and served as an athletic director the last 18 years. Still his greatest joy was leading the local Dee-Mack FCA huddle for the past 2 decades.

The experiences and wisdom gained through the years in the education field have equipped Scott well to serve coaches and students throughout the Peoria area. God’s calling to serve as an area rep has been a good fit for both he and the ministry of FCA. As an area rep, his primary duties include development of campus huddles (currently 19 of them), leading regular coach’s Bible studies, and directing and serving at summer FCA camps, all while mentoring/discipling a host of coaches and student leaders throughout the area.

Scott is a member of New Castle Bible Church, where he became a Christian 23 years ago. He’s served in a number of ministries through the years, and currently is serving as an ABF teacher, Men’s Ministry Board member, and Elder. He and Teresa (Ministry Teams Coordinator at NCBC) have been married 32 years, and are parents of Nick (26), Matt (24), Kaleigh (19).
