A unique partnership between Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and Athletes in Action/cru (AIA) to meet the spirtual needs of student athletes, coaches and athletic staff of Peoria area college campuses.

The story of FCA and AIA...

In 1982, Dick Belsly, along with his wife Claudia, restarted Campus Crusade for Christ (now called cru) at Bradley University.  Dick had a heart to see student athletes and coaches discover all they could be through a relationship with God.  Dick was able to pour his life into student athletes and coaches, chaplain for BU’s men’s basketball team and at the same time, welcomed the aid of Doug Pollock, FCA staff from Springfield, IL. After Dick’s passing in 1999, Doug continued Dick’s work as the chaplain to the men’s team and also was able to start coming alongside the  BU women’s basketball team.

In 2004, Ben Davidson arrived on campus with cru and with the help of volunteers, began a student athlete weekly meeting (a division of cru called Athletes in Action) where students could come and hear about how their life as a student athlete intersected with God.  Through Doug, Ben was connected to Cole Espenschied, FCA Peoria Area Representative in the fall of 2006.  Ben, Cole and Doug now work together as a team called FCAIA in order to serve the Peoria collegiate athletic community at Bradley and ICC.
